The 40-year-old Indian guy was on a boat that left Tardinghen, northern France, around 5.30 a.m. on Sunday, according to French investigators.
According to officials, everybody on board swam returned to the beach as the boat swiftly deflated after leaving.
The victim passed away at the scene despite the efforts of emergency personnel to assist him.
Additionally, authorities reported that police foiled multiple other attempts in Equihen-Plage, Calais, and Sangatte on Sunday morning.
An inflatable boat carrying migrants sank in the Channel on Wednesday morning, killing three people.
About fifty migrants are thought to have been involved in that episode, which happened near Calais, off the coast of Sangatte.
As of Saturday, more people had crossed the Channel in tiny boats than in all of 2023, according to data from the Home Office.
