John Oates of Hall & Oates is cautious about the role artificial intelligence will play in the music business in the future.
“Look at what’s coming in with AI—the possibility that AI is going to be replacing songwriters and artists, for that matter,” Oates stated to News. “The hypothesis that a new… Album by David Bowie. AI could create new David Bowie songs using samples of his whole discography and his voice, which the record label could then release.”
“A younger generation might not even know,” he continued. For that matter, they might not even be aware that he is deceased. We’re kind of heading toward a wild, scary future. It’s a strange future.

“I’ve been considering it for a few years and have been putting a lot of effort into safeguarding Hall & Oates’ and my own intellectual property. It’s not simple. There will be many obstacles in the way, but it’s crucial to achieve it, and I know that,” he remarked.
The musician also applauded the Tennessee law known as the ELVIS Act, which was recently passed to protect vocalists’ likenesses.
