The former member of One Direction passed away in Buenos Aires, Argentina, following a fall from the Casa Sur hotel’s third-floor balcony.
“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together,” wrote Kate Cassidy on Instagram, who had been in Argentina with 31-year-old Payne until two days before his death.
You instructed me not to look at your note, yet I keep it close. “Me and Kate will get married within a year/engaged & together forever 444,” it stated.
Though not in the manner we had intended, I am confident that we will be together forever.
I will always have you at my side. I have a guardian angel now.
The singer, who rose to popularity in 2010 with One Direction, has received an abundance of tributes.
Despite claims that cocaine was discovered in his system, Argentine officials have stated that a toxicological examination of his body has not yet been finished.
