Israeli bombs on Damascus, Syria, killed 15 people and injured 16, according to state media SANA, which cited a military source. The strikes were among the worst to strike the Syrian capital in months.
According to Syrian official media, the strikes hit a number of residential buildings in the Qudsaya district in the countryside of Damascus and the posh Mezzah suburb in the capital. Syrian official media also said that women and children were among the dead.
The Israeli military stated in a statement that it had “inflicted significant damage to the terrorist organization’s command center and to its operatives” during its earlier Thursday strikes against Islamic Jihad in Syria. The second-largest militant organization in Gaza is Islamic Jihad.
