For the first time, the Ministry of Defence has disclosed that the UK Special Forces command denied resettlement requests to over 2,000 Afghan commandos who had shown verified proof of service in groups that fought alongside the SAS and SBS.
While the Afghan troops have fought alongside the British on life-threatening missions against the Taliban, it seems that UK Special Forces officials have turned down every application for sponsorship from a former Afghan commando.
There was no proof that UK Special Forces (UKSF) backed any resettlement applications, despite the MoD’s earlier denial that there was a general policy to reject members of the units, known as the Triples.
The MoD refused to respond when asked whether UKSF had backed any applications.
