Angel Carter Conrad, younger sister of Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys and twin sister of the late Aaron Carter, had no intention of becoming well-known.
However, with the untimely deaths of her sisters Bobbie Jean and Leslie as well as Aaron, she realized she needed to step up and become a mental health advocate.
“After Aaron passed away in November 2022, a fire lit inside of me to want to continue the conversation about mental health,” she stated to the News.. It was my second sibling who had died at the time. I therefore truly wanted to carry on the conversation and really wanted to do something to memorialize Aaron in a way that would be significant to society.
Together with Nick, Carter Conrad started working to increase public awareness of the value of children’s mental health through the organization Kids Mental Health Foundation (previously On Our Sleeves), a project of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
