LONDON: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave the go-ahead for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership to exclude a party activist from the party’s UK organizational reorganization.
Zubair Gull, who gave up his British citizenship to pursue politics in Pakistan, served as the UK head of the Nawaz-led party for almost 20 years and supported it through thick and thin. However, he has since been marginalized within the current party structure.
Additionally, while a number of individuals who collaborated with the Sharifs in London were repositioned in Punjab and the federal capital, he has not been repositioned in Pakistan.
Businessman Ashan Dar has been a part of the new UK arrangement revealed by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who is also in charge of PML-N’s foreign affairs.
