Over the next four years, Pakistan is expected to receive $2.75 billion in budget support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This funding will be provided in the amount of $800 million for the budget year 2024–2025 and $650 million annually for the next three fiscal years.
Following Pakistan’s recent $7 billion loan deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which opened the door for more financial support from other international organizations, the fresh money follows suit.
Growing confidence in Pakistan’s economic recovery and financial prospects is indicated by the ADB’s commitment.
Pakistan has obtained guarantees of $3.2 billion from a number of foreign creditors, including a $1.2 billion loan facility from Saudi Arabia, in addition to the ADB’s assistance.
