PESHAWAR: In their meeting with Afghan Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah Shakir on Sunday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized the importance of reopening the Torkham border, which has been closed for the last eight days, in light of Ramadan and the approaching Eid ul Fitr.
The provincial chief executive met with the Afghan diplomat in Peshawar and stated, “The Afghan embassy should play its role in reopening the border. The border needs to be opened soon.”
All trade and travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been suspended due to the shutdown, which was brought on by concerns over Afghan military building a bunker close to Zero-Point.
