The deputy leader of Labour has refuted claims that she avoided paying capital gains tax on the sale of the property in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
In addition, despite registering to vote under her own address, she has been under investigation for allegedly living largely at her ex-husband’s address in Lowndes Lane rather than her own on Vicarage Road.
Voters are required by law to register at their permanent home address, and giving false information during the registration process carries penalties.
