DUBAI: Residents of Dubai have been encouraged to stay at home and observe a remote working and studying day today as the weather in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) turns severe with heavy rainfall across the nation.
The change occurs as the emirate reacts to difficult weather conditions in the metropolitan area in accordance with orders from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Crown Prince of Dubai.
In an effort to protect its workers and residents from potentially dangerous weather, the crown prince has mandated that all government offices and private schools in Dubai mark Tuesday as a remote working day.
Due to the predicted thunderstorms and downpours throughout the United Arab Emirates, all schools will be canceled on Tuesday. Students will attend online classes from their homes. It is anticipated that government workers in other emirates will work remotely as well.
Due to the dangerous weather, locals are warned to take caution. Until Wednesday, severe winds of up to 70 kph are predicted, and drivers are asked to refrain from making needless trips.
