In the “Jeopardy!” episode that aired on Wednesday night, viewers criticized presenter Ken Jennings for a dubious decision.
During the tough game show, other “Jeopardy!” players fought hard, but one contestant, Rishabh, was determined to keep winning.
Players faced the category “College Towns” as the episode came to a close with the “Final Jeopardy!” round.
Rishabh, a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania and a native of Illinois, faced off against associate professor Rachel Cassidy and environmental lawyer Jay Eversman.
The question “What is Columbia?” was properly answered by two competitors, Rishabh and Rachel. Rishabh won $20,201 after wagering $9,801 over two days.
But Jennings’ decision was quickly criticized by game show viewers, who claimed that the winner’s response was “totally illegible.”
Some people thought Rishabh’s written response to “Columbia” was just a collection of letters. He also scrawled out the initial response he had written down.
Rachel’s response to “Columbia” was simpler to read on the screen, though.
