“Mike Amesbury MP has been helping Cheshire Police with their investigations following an incident on Friday night,” a Labour Party spokesperson stated.
The Labour Party has administratively suspended Mr. Amesbury’s membership in the party while these investigations are still underway.
The MP for Runcorn and Helsby was shown punching a man, who went to the ground, and then repeatedly striking him in a fresh video that MailOnline was able to secure on Sunday afternoon.
Then, three bystanders were seen approaching the two men and stepping in to help.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said, “A 55-year-old man has voluntarily been interviewed under caution.”
According to a Tory Party official, Mike Amesbury has questions regarding his activities, and it is appropriate that they be thoroughly probed.
