The Dodgers took advantage of Yankees defensive errors in the top of the fifth inning to tie the score, turning a topsy-turvy game upside down at the halfway point.
Teoscar Hernandez, a left fielder, stated, “We just took advantage of every mistake they made in that inning and scored five runs.”

The Yankees faced elimination, but they came out strong in the Bronx, taking a 3-0 lead thanks to back-to-back home runs by Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr.
Giancarlo Stanton’s solo drive in the third made it 5-0, and Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty was hooked after Alex Verdugo drove home Anthony Volpe in the second.
The Dodgers responded after Judge fumbled an easy catch in center field in the fifth, loading the bases with no outs before Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Hernandez all drove in runs to make it 5-5. Yankees starter Gerrit Cole was perfect for four innings.
