After halting US aid to Kyiv in an apparent attempt to promote diplomacy, US President Donald Trump warned further sanctions and tariffs on Russia on Friday for its assault on Ukraine.
Hours after Russia launched a “massive” drone and missile attack on Ukrainian energy installations on Friday, he made remarks that were posted on the Truth Social site.
“Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely ‘pounding’ Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large-scale banking sanctions, sanctions, and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and final settlement agreement on peace is reached,” the president wrote.
