Though Lauren Oakley will be joining JLS singer JB Gill in this weekend’s live performance, the professional dancer is reportedly “doing much better” in her place.
Dowden was rushed to Barnet Hospital as a “precaution” after “feeling unwell” and missing Sunday’s results show. Gill, 37, stood by himself to find out if he would be in the dance-off.
Following their Halloween week foxtrot to Toploader’s Dancing In The Moonlight, the duo managed to avoid the bottom two.
“Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family send her love and wish her well,” a Strictly representative stated.
The fact that Lauren Oakley, another professional dancer, can fill in for rehearsals and perform in Saturday’s show for JB Gill’s couple’s choice dance makes her very happy.
We all hope that next week, Amy will be able to dance with JB again.
I will take care of JB for you this week; I hope we make you proud, Oakley wrote in a supportive Instagram post for Dowden.
