After undergoing cancer treatment, the dancer—who also has Crohn’s disease—returned to the performance in August.
An ambulance was summoned as a precaution since Amy was feeling ill, according to a Dowden representative. She wants to express her gratitude to the Strictly family for their love and support, since she is feeling much better.
“We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.”
“Amy Dowden MBE was unable to be in tonight’s results show due to unforeseen circumstances,” a Strictly representative continued.
Since 2022, Dowden has not collaborated with a celebrity on the entertainment show after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis.
She talked about how happy she was to hear from her doctor that there was no sign of illness before she left.
She described the news as “words I dreamed of” and her “biggest accomplishment yet” in an Instagram post earlier this year.
The 34-year-old stated that she will require monthly injections and routine check-ups for five years before receiving the all-clear.
For his contributions to Crohn’s disease awareness-raising and fundraising, Dowden was named an MBE in this year’s New Year’s honors list.
