Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi denied talks with the former ruling party shortly after Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claimed that the government had offered to postpone the protest in Islamabad.
“No talks are taking place as negotiations are not held under threats,” the interior minister told reporters Thursday after attending a hearing on the PTI protest at the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Naqvi stated that while he was in favor of negotiations, they could not be held after threats.
The change follows the former prime minister’s announcement that he had received an “offer” through leading party figures to postpone his highly anticipated protest in Islamabad, which was originally scheduled for November 24.
“Everything will be alright,” the PTI founder claimed.
