With the aid of her local teacher’s union, a Georgia teacher who was fired and lost her tenure after reading a book that taught 10-year-old children about gender ideology filed a lawsuit against her former employer.
Despite having acquired tenure, Katherine “Katie” Rinderle was removed from her position at Cobb County School District’s Due West Elementary School after more than 10 years of teaching after she introduced gender ideology to the pupils.
According to a district regulation, teachers are not allowed to talk about subjects that are “sensitive,” “controversial,” or “divisive.” The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, said that the policies and the dismissal were making it difficult for instructors to establish inclusive classroom environments.
The Georgia Association of Educators backed Rinderle’s lawsuit, which did not refute her reading of the book “My Shadow is Purple” to the class.
