Viagogo’s business development manager, Matt Drew, said that the band’s first-ever performance in sixteen years “descended into chaos” on Saturday when tickets went on sale.
When thousands of fans tried to purchase tickets for the concerts in the UK and Ireland in July and August of next year, they were met with frustration and anger.
Many people stood in virtual lines for hours to get tickets on GigsAndTours, See Tickets, and Ticketmaster, only to discover that the costs had skyrocketed into the hundreds of pounds by the time they were able to do so. Others were left out entirely.
This comes after former minister David Davis claimed that Oasis ticket sales were “corporate Britain at its worst” and that supporters were “mistreated and ripped off” on Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge.
As a Tory MP since 1987, Mr. Davis disclosed that he had written to the Competition and Markets Authority about the matter, stating that “this needs to be put right” and that “the rules are not working.”
