An 84-inch water conduit on University Road that ruptured last month has been successfully repaired, restoring Karachi’s water supply.
After the repairs were finished, the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) said that water flow from the Dhabeji Pumping Station has restarted.
Thousands of gallons of water were lost as a result of the damage, which happened on November 29 during Red Line project development.
Water shortages occurred in a number of parts of the city, including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Mosmiyat, Safoora, and many blocks of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, as a result of the Dhabeji Station’s water pumps being turned down.
Under the direction of the chief engineer, a group of more than 300 workers began repair work on December 3 and worked in three shifts.
