Police officers are not permitted to use social media, according to an order from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to District and Regional Police Officers (DPOs) throughout the province.
The letter made clear that accessing TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other social media platforms is forbidden for officers and officials.
In keeping with worries about standard operating procedure (SOP) violations, the directive also prohibits posting police badges or other identifiable evidence on social media.
The letter requests departmental action against individuals who violate the new policy, noting that multiple officers have been found to be in violation of these SOPs.
Police leadership has emphasized that using social media compromises the credibility of the force and puts officers’ safety at danger.
