Following intense, heavy monsoon storms that pounded the nation, Nepal has seen at least 14 fatal landslides, lightning strikes, and flooding, according to a disaster official on Thursday.
Every year, South Asia experiences significant mortality and destruction due to the monsoon rains, which last from June to September. However, according to AFP, the number of devastating floods and landslides has grown recently.
Experts claim that the issue is getting worse due to increased road building and climate change.
A representative from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Dijan Bhattarai, said AFP that two children and four other individuals were among the deceased on Wednesday.
He went on to say that three homes in the Lamjung district of west Bengal were destroyed by a landslide, which left the four victims buried alive.
