According to US media, Amanda Gallagher, 37, backed into the operating propeller on Saturday while photographing fellow skydivers at Wichita Cook Airfield in Kansas.
Around 3 p.m., emergency personnel arrived on the scene in Sedgwick County, and Ms. Gallagher was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, but she passed very soon after.
The 37-year-old passed away “in a very sad accident” while “doing what she loved, skydiving and taking pictures,” according to a GoFundMe campaign created to help her family with burial expenses.
The page says, “Her family could use your help covering the funeral expenses as they process through this tragic accident.”
Please think about lending them a hand and remembering to pray for them all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the young woman who lost her life yesterday in a tragic accident involving an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield, according to a statement released by the airfield’s spokeswoman.
I won’t make any assumptions about what might have or ought to have happened differently because I wasn’t present when it occurred.
They also stated that an official investigation is underway on the incident.
The page has raised almost $6,000 (£4,600) thus far.
