Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated on Wednesday that attempts to sabotage China-Pakistan cooperation would fail and that “Beijing remains firm in its commitment to working with Islamabad in various fields” following a deadly attack on Chinese engineers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province yesterday.
Jian made the remarks during a scheduled press conference today, following a violent terrorist attack in Shangla district on Tuesday that targeted a vehicle and killed a Pakistani driver along with five Chinese nationals, including a woman.
“China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners,” the official stated, adding that “our two countries have the resolve and capability to make the terrorists pay the price.” Our unbreakable bond is firmly entrenched in the two peoples.”We vehemently denounce this terrorist attack. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and our profound sorrow for their loss. Jian responded to the Shangla attack, in which a suicide bomber smashed his car filled with explosives into the car transporting the victims, saying, “We have previously stated our position on this incident.”
