Usman Anwar, the Punjab Inspector General of Police, has declared a five-year extension of the age restriction for head constables and graduate constables who were not able to take the P-Cadet Scheme exams administered by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
The age requirement has been increased from 35 to 40 years old for applicants seeking to be sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors. Thousands of constables and head constables who become over-age as a result of the Covid-19 epidemic and other conditions are anticipated to profit from this decision.
A Punjab Police spokesperson stated that more than 1,000 constables and head constables will be able to take the tests thanks to the age restriction hike. Numerous constables had come to the IGP to voice their displeasure with the age limitations.
