Due to increased levies introduced by the government in Budget 2024–2025, air travel has grown more expensive, particularly for business class passengers.
Business and club class airline tickets for a number of nations will be subject to excise taxes as of July 1. The business and club class excise duty to the United States, North America, South America, and Canada has increased from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000.
The duty has been raised for European nations by Rs60,000, to Rs210,000, from the previous Rs150,000.

In a similar vein, the tax on business and club class tickets to Australia and New Zealand has gone up by Rs60,000 to Rs 210,000.
Additionally, the excise charge on airline tickets to Malaysia, Indonesia, and China has increased to Rs 210,000. Furthermore, the duty on tickets to the Middle East, Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates has increased by Rs30,000, making the total amount payable to Rs105,000.
