The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is concerned about possible slippage on the runway at Karachi airport due to the continuous monsoon rainfall.
All airline and aviation company pilots have been advised by the CAA to use extra caution when landing and taking off.
The CAA expressly mentioned that the rain is making Runway No. 25L extremely slick. There’s been a Notice to Airmen (Notam) issued pointing out that slippage on the wet runway is more likely.
“Due to the rains, there is a fear of slipping of planes on the Karachi Airport runway,” the Civil Aviation Authority stated. This advisory is a part of larger initiatives to keep aviation safe throughout the difficult monsoon season.
