RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), named Junaid Akbar as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa party’s president on Saturday.
The action comes after Akbar was elected head of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) with backing from the government and opposition.
With the capacity to call any person or document from government agencies about financial matters, the PAC is regarded as one of the most potent legislative groups.
Salman Akram Raja, the PTI Secretary General, has announced Akbar’s appointment, taking Ali Amin Gandapur’s place as the province’s chief minister.
Raja has also been directed by the PTI founder to offer advice on the party’s restructuring in Punjab.
According to Raja, Gandapur himself had no desire to continue serving as the party’s regional president. The PTI.
