Aleema Khan, the sister of party founder Imran Khan, has expressed dissatisfaction with the current leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and stated that they had no “real intention” of releasing the former prime minister from prison.
The announcement was made just hours after the Islamabad public meeting organized by the previous ruling party was postponed till September 8 due to the local government rescinding the no-objection certificate (NOC) and sealing the routes leading to the federal capital.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan announced that the rally had been notified it would be postponed and would now take place on September 8 per Imran Khan’s directive.A brief audio recording allegedly containing Aleema Khan’s voice is making the rounds on social media, expressing disappointment at the rally’s postponement.
She asked who gave senior PTI leader Azam Swati the order to see Imran early in the morning and why. “Who told him [Swati] to meet Khan at 7 a.m. and convey a message regarding the postponement of the rally.”
