Following its “do-or-die” demonstration disaster in the federal capital, a new audio clip starring Ali Muhammad Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has surfaced, suggesting that the party’s leadership is becoming more divided.
Days after PTI abruptly canceled its march due to a government crackdown on demonstrators trying to reach D-Chowk, the audio was leaked, causing considerable disapproval within the erstwhile ruling party.
The PTI legislative leadership is being questioned about why supporters were told to go to D-Chowk rather than hold a sit-in in Sangjani as the former prime minister had directed.
The PTI leader asserted on the recording, which Ali verified was his in an interview with News, that Imran Khan, the party’s founder, had given the leaders instructions to organize a protest.
