Last week, Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain KC, Scotland’s highest law officer, stated that a fresh team of prosecutors and police will work on a thorough reinvestigation.
It follows criticism from the family of Mr. Wilson, who had already expressed dissatisfaction with the way the issue was handled.
The family said in a statement to The Press and Journal that during the previous 18 months, their relationship with the force had “steadily deteriorated” because of “unresolved.
“Any trust we have in Police Scotland’s ability to secure justice for Alistair has regrettably been eroded by their poor judgement and lack of accountability at the highest levels,” the family continued.
