American dancer Allison Holker talked candidly about a bad incident in the past during an interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show.
Host Jamie Kern Lima asked, “In your book, you talk about how, at the age of 17, you experienced something you say was so traumatizingthat it touched every part of your life,” as she prepared to release her memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light.
The dancer started, “I felt like I had been taken advantage of for the first time.”
She implied that because of her “joy of life” and “energy of wanting to constantly learn,” the “dance community” was the source of the abuse.
