Even though Fernando Alonso is 43 years old and hasn’t won a world drivers’ championship in 18 years, he is thinking back on his past, present, and future in Formula 1. Most importantly, he is thinking about his chances of earning a third world championship.
“I still dream,” admits Alonso. “Why not? I’m still dreaming, even though I realize 2026 is probably my only opportunity because 2025 is so challenging.
“I think Formula One is for dreamers because anything may happen. We’ll see.
That remark speaks much about Alonso. It speaks to his unadulterated passion for his work and his steadfast conviction that, despite the setbacks of the last ten and more years of his career, new success may be on the horizon.
