As everyone is aware, on Tuesday the nominees for the 2018 Academy Awards were revealed.
Nevertheless, two of the film’s main cast members, Greta Gerwig, who directed the picture, and lead actress Margot Robbie, failed to receive nominations for the 2024 Oscars.
The actor from La La Land responded to this by posting a strong and thought-provoking message expressing his dissatisfaction with the nomination list.
Ryan wrote, “To say I’m disappointed they weren’t nominated in their respective categories would be.” in response to Margot and Greta’s Oscar rejection.
He said, “Against all the odds, with two soulless, nude puppets, thankfully, they broke our hearts, made history, and made us laugh.”
“Their work should be recognized alongside other very deserving nominees,” the rising star of acting went on.
The 43-year-old actor concluded by expressing his profound thanks for being one of the eight nominees—among them his co-star America Ferrera—who were chosen from the enterprise.
