Thinking bigger picture, which is what I’m really attempting to do, makes me realize how much I want the remainder of my trip leading up to the Olympics and my Olympic experience to be truly joyous. There is only one gold medal winner. I therefore don’t want the outcome to define my experience. I really just want to enjoy this major accomplishment and bask in the experience, as well as truly appreciate myself for how far I let myself go and all the obstacles I overcome.”
