ISLAMABAD According to The News on Tuesday, the National Assembly approved three important laws that would safeguard vulnerable Pakistani migrants and fight human trafficking.
Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister for Law and Justice, introduced the three bills: the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (Amendment) Bill 2025, the Emigration (Amendment) Bill 2025, and the Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants (Amendment) Bill 2025.
“The decision comes amid alarming reports of deaths among illegal migrants in recent months,” the federal minister said.
He emphasized during the announcement that the government has spent the last two months working with different stakeholders to improve these legislative measures, which aim to reform the Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants Act 2018 and the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018.
