Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, claims that the queen enjoys thoughtful, personalized presents like gardening manuals or sweets made with honey.
Harrold disclosed the startling facts on the behaviors of several Royal family members, including the king himself, in an interview with The Mirror.
Harrold remarked, “The King detests receiving anything ostentatious and costly.” If you were to spend a fortune on him, he would feel ashamed. “That’s beautiful, but you really shouldn’t have,” he would add.
He said, “So, at Christmas, I used to give him books on Victorian gardening or honey-based products because I know how much he loves honey.”
