ISLAMABAD According to sources who talked to News on Thursday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is anticipated to make significant appointments to the positions of foreign secretary and spokeswoman.
The reports state that Amna Baloch, a Grade 22 officer in Pakistan’s Foreign Service, will succeed Dr. Syrus Sajjad Qazi in the foreign secretary position after the latter retires.
On September 11, Baloch is expected to start working there, according to reports. Interestingly enough, she is the second woman to be selected as a federal secretary by the administration in as many months, following Ambreen Jan, who was named information and broadcasting secretary earlier this month.
In the meantime, Qazi is expected to be appointed ambassador after retirement to a significant nation.On the other side, sources say that FO spokesman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch would take over Asim Iftikhar Ahmad as Pakistan’s ambassador to France; however, her replacement has not yet been made public.
In the meantime, Ahmad has been named to take Munir Akram’s place as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN.
