Pakistan is still struggling with pollution, and on Friday morning, Lahore and Karachi were among the top three most polluted cities in the world due to their “very unhealthy” air quality.
With an air quality index (AQI) value of 266 at 9:14 a.m., the capital of Punjab topped the worldwide pollution chart of the Swiss air quality monitor, while Karachi came in third with an AQI score of 216.
Karachi’s air quality has been worse over time and this week, for the first time in a month, above the threshold considered “very unhealthy” for humans. Punjab has been shrouded in deadly haze for more than two months, with Lahore being the most severely affected.
Given the continuous pollution crisis and the persistence of haze in several regions of the nation.
