According to government data, since September 2023, security authorities have detained 2,107 drug traffickers and seized more than 1,053 metric tons of drugs nationally.
The government and military leadership launched the current anti-narcotics campaign together, which has stepped up efforts to stop drug trafficking nationwide. Authorities arrested 49 people and seized 1,204.733 metric tons of various banned substances in October alone.
During recent operations, 279.256 kilos of various illegal narcotics were seized, including 1.502 kilograms of heroin, 708.17 kilograms of hashish, 71.205 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 144.6 kilograms of opium.
Significant seizures were made in all regions, according to a provincial breakdown of October’s operations: Sindh (243.067 kg), Punjab (396.191 kg), Gilgit-Baltistan (32.605 kg), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (205.87 kg), and Balochistan (327 kg).
