ISLAMABAD: In cooperation with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB), the international animal welfare organization Four Paws has successfully rescued Sunny, a 3-year-old Asian black bear, from jugglers in the district of Jhang, according to The News.
The local wildlife authorities confiscated Sunny, a former dancing bear, but she was rescued.
The bear was discovered to be critically ill and to have suffered from extreme neglect and cruelty.
Sunny was rendered defenseless after a comprehensive veterinarian check showed that her teeth had been extracted, a standard procedure in the dancing bear trade. Additionally, the bear was discovered to be malnourished and agitated.
