Based on his own study, Australian physician Professor Richard Scolyer recently disclosed that a year after receiving a world-first treatment, he is still free of brain cancer.
The 57-year-old cured his brain tumor after receiving a diagnosis of stage 4 glioblastoma in June 2023, using his research melanoma to treat the disease.
“I had a brain #MRI scan last Thursday looking for recurrent #glioblastoma (and/or treatment complications),” he said in a post earlier this week about his progress with X. Yesterday, I learned that there is still no indication of a recurrence. I am ecstatic beyond measure.”
According to the Cancer Research Institute, cancer immunotherapy harnesses the body’s natural immune system to prevent, control, and eradicate cancer.
