At at 1.17 am on Sunday, officers were summoned to an address on Duckett Street, Tower Hamlets, to reports of a woman who had been stabbed. They found the victim.
Not long after, a 32-year-old lady was taken into custody on murderous suspicions. She is still being held.
Additionally, a 37-year-old male is being held after being detained on suspicion of aiding an offender.
According to the police, everyone involved seemed to have known one another and had previously visited the address.
The probe’s lead investigator, Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, stated:
Even though the investigation is just getting started, we have already made great strides and taken two persons into custody.
Tower Hamlets-based Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney of the Metropolitan Police’s Central East Command Unit expressed his condolences to the victim’s family “at this very difficult time.”
On the upcoming days, he said, local law enforcement would be present on and around Duckett Street to reassure the community.
