Rafael Nadal, a Spanish tennis legend, hopes to win another Davis Cup in Malaga next week to finish off his tearful tennis retirement.
The 38-year-old Nadal has struggled with injuries in recent years, so it’s unclear how much he can play for his nation, but everyone will be watching the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
The veteran guided Spain to victory in Madrid five years ago, which was Nadal’s fourth time winning the title and their most recent.
He acknowledged on Saturday, though, that his contribution to Malaga might be restricted to doubles rather than singles.
“We’ll first need to assess how I feel throughout training, and I’ll be the first to withdraw if I don’t think I have a chance to win the singles.
