On March 28 and 30, the Los Angeles Pierce Brother Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary’s one-space mausoleum was put up for auction.
Anthony Jabin, a Beverly Hills resident, stated: “This weekend, I went to Julien’s and bought Marilyn Monroe’s bathing suit and Hugh Hefner’s round bed. I’ve always dreamed of spending the rest of my life next to Marilyn Monroe.”
Monroe’s tomb marker, which was damaged and needed to be replaced, brought an additional £70,410 ($889,900) at auction.
In 1992, Hefner purchased the tomb adjacent to the actress’s. Now, buried there, he passed away in 2017 at the age of 91.
