The first-ever VegFest Mela was held on Saturday, with a focus on the importance of supporting an animal-friendly society and locally grown vegetarian food.
A wide range of people attended the event, which was held at the Music and Dance School in association with Animal Alliance Asia. Participants included professionals, students, elderly people, and kids. The festival included a number of events, such as presentations about the advantages of plant-based diets, verbatim theater, and a screening of short films.
Verbatim theater was presented to the audience by actor Shah Farhad, who also demonstrated how it can be used to promote issues like plant-based diets and animal rights. A lively mood was created for the occasion by the participants’ involvement in a variety of enjoyable activities.
