In honor of Diwali, the Balochistani administration announced Wednesday that all Hindu government workers would have a public holiday from October 31 to November 2.
The declaration is a part of the government’s efforts to encourage inclusivity and religious peace in the province.
The significance of Diwali, also called the Festival of Lights, which is observed by Hindus worldwide, was emphasized in a statement issued by the province government.
The government has made sure that Hindu employees’ salaries are paid on October 24 in addition to the holiday, enabling them to enjoy this auspicious occasion with their families and communities.
