Another controversy has been raised by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they posed for a picture with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Given that Holness has a history of opposing monarchy, the decision is being called a “slap in the face” to King Charles III and the royal line.
Prominent columnist Sarah Vine was unreserved in her criticism of the pair, characterizing their decision to surround themselves with anti-monarchists as a direct message to the Palace.
The Express said that she wrote, “By choosing to break cover in such vehemently anti-monarchist company, the Duke and Duchess appear to be sending a very clear signal to the Palace.”
“It seems to me that they intend to use their royal connection to undermine” both the royal family’s individual reputations and the institution’s overall reputation.
She expressed her hope that she was mistaken, pointing out that the Montecito royal family is “helping to fuel anti-royalist sentiment throughout the Commonwealth and elsewhere.”
“The late Queen would be devastated. She loved the Commonwealth and used her position to promote compassion and forgiveness.
Regarding King Charles, there is only one thing I can think of to do: he should provide them what they say they desire and finally liberate them from all royal bonds by taking away their titles.
