ISLAMABAD The Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged Monday that a boat carrying dozens of people, including Pakistanis, sunk in Libya.
According to the ministry’s representative, Pakistani officials are gathering information about the passengers’ legal status, therefore it has not yet been confirmed.
According to the Foreign Office’s statement, a ship carrying about 65 people overturned close to the port of Marsa Dela, northwest of Zawiya City, Libya.
According to the ministry, a delegation from the Pakistani Embassy in Tripoli was sent to Zawiya Hospital to help the local authorities identify the deceased.
The embassy was attempting to find out more information about the Pakistani affected individuals, the Foreign Office noted.
